Submission guidelines

Send one-two poems, artwork, fiction, reviews, non-fiction (1,000 words maximum) to urticalitblog at gmail dot com. Previously published work OK as long as you give publishing background. Simultaneous submissions OK.

Write your full name and submission type + urtica in the header of your email. Name your attachment with lastname_firstname_title_urtica. Make sure the title of the piece you send appears at the top of the page. No more than one poem per page. No river-long poem. Short fiction preferred.

Send all submissions in a txt, doc or odt file, attached to your mail. Don't copy/paste as formatting tends to get awkward, and hard to manage afterwards.

A short biography (very short -- essential only: where you are from (city, [state/province], country), a link to your blog/website, your latest publication...) is welcome but not necessary.

I don't retain any rights, your writing is your creation. You are welcome to cite the original publishing place in case you reprinted your work.

Submissions read year round. Response time may vary a lot. Reprints accepted.

You can also send your manuscripts to the same address as I am considering publishing book length work again. Payment is five (5) complimentary copies of the book and a large advertising on social networking sites. I know it's not much but since poetry (or even fiction/non-fiction) doesn't sell much when published by small indie press, I cannot offer more than that.

Send your manuscript as an attachment (Word, OpenOffice, PDF) to urticalitblog at gmail dot com. No maximum length. If I like it and it sticks to my aesthetic requirements, I will publish it. Very few will be selected (I have become more selective than I used to be). Reprints welcome, make sure you own the rights to your work though. Simultaneous submissions welcome but let me know if your work is accepted elsewhere. No multiple submissions: only one genre/manuscript at once.

Ask me if you're not sure. Just remember the motto: "Nothing is more annoying than a book that won't refrain you from reading something else right after it."

Envoyez un ou deux poèmes, textes en prose, critiques, essais, photographies, reproductions de tableaux, collages... à urticalitblog arobase gmail point com. Les textes etc déjà publiés sont acceptés. Vous pouvez proposer des contributions dans différents genre en même temps.

Indiquez votre nom complet et le genre + urtica dans le sujet de votre message. Nommez votre document comme suit: nom_titre_urtica. Assurez-vous que le titre de votre contribution apparaisse en haut de la page. Pas plus d'un texte par page. Pas de poème ou nouvelle fleuve. Format court préféré.

Envoyez vos propositions dans un fichier txt, ou doc, ou odt. Joignez-le à votre mail. Pas de copier/coller dans le corps du message.

Une biographie très courte est possible bien que non nécessaire. Un lien vers votre site ou blog sera préféré. Sinon, le nom, le pays ou la ville, la profession éventuelle, le dernier ouvrage paru. L'essentiel seulement.

Je ne conserve aucun droit sur votre travail. Vous êtes encouragés à citer Urtica comme lieu de première publication si vous proposez votre texte ailleurs, plus tard.
